In 2006 Marijn van Kreij was awarded the Uriot prize by the Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten. The prize enabled Marijn to make a publication about his work. The publication is a mix of colored, glossy and recycled paper combined with different printing technics (offset, silkscreen and laserprint). The different materials and printing forms created a structure that allowed us to edit and reinterprate the work of Marijn within the form of an autonomous publication.

For the design I used a grid from Yona Friedman's Ville Spatial to create this typographic image.

The design of this publiction is based on a check grid that is only visible on the inside of the cover. The check grid, is an architypal element within the work of Nicolas Chardon. Words defining the artist's practice are placed throughout the publiction using the grid to position the letters.

Two posters designed by Alfons Hooikaas and myself are included in the 19th international poster festival in Chaumont, France.

The posters where designed as part of the Go-between project that was curated by the curatorial programme of de Appel art center, Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

COURIER

Self initiated magazine project, together with Raoul Wassenaar

Courier is a magazine project initiated by Raoul Wassenaar and myself. We invited ten participants to contibute ten times to ten empty magazines. After the first contribution was made Raoul and I travelled as 'couriers' through the Netherlands to pick up and deliver the magazines, swapping them between the participants. The result being ten totally different magazines made by the same ten people.

Participants where: Henny Overbeek, Dunya Steyns, Tanja Heintjes, Isis Sutmuller, Rotterdam DC, Edwin van den Dungen, Nanna van Heest, Jochem Sanders, Peggy Franck and Courier (Raoul and myself).
